Sequel to Desert Tracks, this guidebook by Catherine and her husband, John Johnson, followed six waterways in south-eastern Australia and central from their source to their delta or – in the case of the Cooper, to where it reaches Lake Eyre. Again packed with historical material, Aboriginal stories, settler history, contemporary life along these often remote areas. The research was completed before John died in 2000 and published some months later.
