A travel guide to the Australian deserts, written by Catherine with her late husband, John Johnson. 

After years of traveling through the Australian outback, Catherine and John put their skills together to cover seven of the more popular desert tracks in Australia.  The book was a best seller and was reprinted several times.  It combines advice on how to navigate outback tracks that may change with the weather, how to cook underground, where to find great swimming holes and fishing spots with plenty of historical anecdotes about life in these remote regions.  The book was reprinted twice.
